Kelp by

The sea lettuce belongs to the green type of seaweed (chlorophyta) while kelp belongs to the brown type of seaweed (phaeophyta).

The taste of sea lettuce is slightly pungent, while that of kelp is salty and sweet.

Sea lettuce can be eaten raw such as in salads and kelp is normally softened though cooking, baking or steaming.
